Willow James is a Dallas-based trio blending Americana and Rock ‘n’ Roll into a unique sound. The native-Texan group highlights the importance in both the heard and unheard elements of a song, inspired by acts ranging from Bob Dylan to Sturgill Simpson. Willow James includes songwriter, lead vocalist and guitarist Dan O’Connell, bassist Joel Armstrong, and backup vocalist and drummer Nick Odom.

Willow James can turn a crowd of strangers into friends over a shared passion for music, performing at notable venues including Adair’s Saloon in Dallas and The Live Oak in Fort Worth. The group travels across Texas, perfecting their live show from Houston to Nacogdoches and beyond.

Willow James began after Dan met Joel in college and moved into a house together. Countless afternoons were spent locked away in a converted attic upstairs, playing instruments and recording songs. After Dan received encouragement to pursue songwriting professionally, Dan and Joel officially formed Willow James. When they met Nick by chance through a mutual friend, the three became close friends and brought the group into a new creative era. Nick, Joel and Dan provide their own unique blends of ideas and influences to form a distinctive sound that is authentic yet familiar, youthful yet classic, and eclectic yet timeless.
